A Baby Activity Center is a fun Place for the Baby
Once babies outgrow swings and bouncers, a baby activity center or exerciser might be a good product to purchase. It provides a safe place to play and also keeps the baby entertained.
The exerciser has a circular play tray with a seat in the middle. The seat has openings on each side for the baby to put its legs through. This allows the baby to move around with an exerciser that has wheels under its frame. Be sure the wheels are locked if you are not watching the baby closely.
The baby will get plenty of exercise by bouncing up and down in the seat. When moving around with its legs, it will help to develop the leg muscles.
Most models have toys attached to the tray that rattle or make sounds. These toys will keep the baby entertained and stimulated.
Babies can start using an activity center when they can sit up by themselves. This is usually when they are about 4-5 months old. The seat height can be adjusted. This allows the exerciser to be used until the toddler is about 10-14 month old. The parents get a few minutes of free time, while the young toddler is safe and entertained. Price range is about $60-100.
Look for the following features:
- Sturdy frame
- Adjustable seat
- The play tray should have attached toys that can make sounds or have lights
- A model that folds would be convenient for storage and for travel
