Baby Bottle Nipples

Baby bottle nipples, also called teats, are either sold separately or are included with the bottles. Most nipples can be used with different style bottles and different bottle sizes.

Nipples are either made from latex or silicone and come in several shapes: 1. Traditional bell shape
2. Orthodontic design
3. Flattened shape

Teats also come with different size holes:
1. Slow flow types are best for babies up to 3 months old.
2. Medium flow types are usually good for babies up to 12 months old.
3. Fast flow nipples should be used for babies over 3 months old.

It is best to buy various types and let the baby determine the ones she likes. Inspect nipples regularly and replace them when the baby has problems. Use a teat brush for cleaning.
