Choose the right Baby Bottles
There are many styles and colors of baby bottles available. Main styles are: 1. standard
2. angle neck 3. disposable 4. natural flow Most bottles are either made of clear or semi clear plastic.
Standard bottles have straight sides and are easy to fill and hold. Sizes available are 4 and 5 ounces for
infants and 8 and 9 ounces for older babies. The bottles can be cleaned and used again. Price range is about $1-4.
Angle neck bottles are bent at the top. The formula collects at the bottle's nipple end. This should prevent the baby
from swallowing air. The disadvantage is that angle neck bottles can be more difficult to fill. Price range is about $2-4.
Disposables have a holder, also called a nurser, in which a disposable plastic pouch is put. The top of the pouch is stretched over the rim of the holder.
Disposables save time, but cost more.
Price range is about $10-20 for a set, which includes a 4 ounce holder, an 8 ounce holder and 10 liners.
Natural flow bottles come with a special insert that is put into the center of the bottle. The insert eliminates air bubbles.
Price range is about $11-17 for a 3 pack.
One way to choose bottles is to experiment with different types and then decide, which type is best for the
baby and for you.
