for basic Baby Care

There are many things a parent must do to properly take care of the baby. Baby care involves correct feeding, bathing, protecting against accidents or when to call a doctor.

Nail Care
Keep the nails trimmed to prevent the baby from scratching herself or others. Use baby nail clippers or blunt ended scissors. When cutting toe nails, always cut straight across.

Hair Care
Shampoo the baby's hair once or twice a week until the baby is several months old. For the newborn use a soft sponge or washcloth to clean her head. Rinse the washcloth and then remove the baby shampoo.

Cleaning the nose
If the nose is stuffed up, use a baby nasal aspirator to suction out the mucus. Don't use a cotton swap or tissue to clean the inside of the baby's nose.
