During the last 30 years baby cloth diapers have changed a lot. They are now just about equivalent to disposables. They are comfortable, have a good fit and are leak proof.

There are various types available:

1. Flat diapers need to be folded by the parent. Pins hold them in place.  They are the cheapest kind.

2. Prefolds require little folding. Pins or covers hold them in place.

3. Contour(shaped) are wider at the bottom and are good to use with covers.

4. Fitted are prepared to fit like pants. They have an elastic waist and are elastic at the legs. They are similar to disposable diapers.

5. All in ones have waterproof outer covers and an absorbent center. They are like disposables,  but are washable and reusable. They are the most expensive type.

If you don't want to wash diapers yourself, you can get a service. Cost will be about $40 a month.
