Comfortable and safe
Baby Clothing

When shopping for baby clothing, keep in mind that soft and safe clothing is more important than style. Good used clothing will be very cost effective and nobody will know the difference. If you buy clothes, buy only a few items in newborn size, such as 3-5 onesies, 2-3 pajamas that open at the bottom, 1-2 light jackets or sweaters.

Babies grow into clothes quickly. A good rule is to buy clothes 3-6 months larger than the baby's age, e.g. for a 3 months old baby, buy size 6 months. Don't apply this rule to sleepwear, which should always fit tightly.

Infant clothing should be soft and safe. It should be easy to put on and take off. Head openings should be stretchy or have shoulder snaps. Cotton is the preferred material, it is soft and absorbs moisture easily. Your baby will be going through several changes during the day, so buy clothes that withstand many washes.
