Safe and sturdy Baby High Chair
Once your baby can sit up without support, it is time to look for a baby high chair.
This should be when the baby is about 3-5 months old. When selecting a chair, make sure
it can be pulled up to the family's dinner table. Then your baby can join in at
mealtime from the start and feel like part of the family.
There are many styles and models available. Before deciding,
consider the following features:
- Adjustable height positions and reclining seat positions.
- Comfortable seat.
- Adjustable and removable tray. The tray should also be lightweight, so it can be removed with one hand.
- Upholstery should be spill resistant and easy to clean.
- The seat should have a safety belt.
- A crotch post to help prevent the baby slipping under the tray.
- Casters with locks for easy movement.
- Toys that can be attached to the tray.
- The chair should be foldable for storage.
When your child gets older, a booster seat that straps on a regular chair could
substitute for a high chair. This seat can be stored in your car trunk for trips.
The price for a booster seat is about $40 and about $60-90 for a basic baby high chair.
Mid range price is about $90-150, while the high end chairs can cost over $250.
