Baby Home Safety can be improved
with inexpensive Accessories

With young children, especially toddlers, baby home safety is important. Fortunately, there are excellent accessories available that will help protect small children.

You can make your home safer by using the following accessories:

  • Gates keep a child contained in one area and away from stairs or other hazards.
  • Electrical outlet covers help protect children from electrical shock. Covers prevent children from inserting objects or their fingers into outlets.
  • Cabinet latches can be mounted inside the cabinet doors. These latches keep the doors from opening more than 2-4 inches, but an adult can open the door by pressing the latch down.
  • Door knob locks help prevent children from locking themselves in rooms, especially bath rooms.
  • Soft corner protectors help protect children from sharp edges, like sharp corners of cocktail tables.
  • Sliding window locks help prevent children from getting into medicine and china cabinets.
  • Toilet locks help prevent children from throwing items into the toilet.

The above accessories are inexpensive, but can improve your home safety. But they will not take the place of parental supervision. They will not guarantee that accidents will not happen. They will, however, reduce the chance for accidents.
