A baby moses basket provides a comfortable and secure sleeping place for the infant. Most are made from palm. The more expensive ones are made from wicker. Wicker baskets tend to last longer.

The basket has two handles, which meet in the middle, when it is carried. The handles should be sturdy. When carrying the basket, hold one hand underneath to support the baby.
