Soft plastic coated or
Sterling Silver Baby Spoons

Toddlers develop skills to use utensils like baby spoons and cups over time. Plastic coated spoons are soft and come in a variety of colors. The spoons are gentle to the baby's gum. The wide, thick handles make it easy for the baby to hold them.

The time to start introducing baby utensils is when the baby is about 6 months old. It will take several months of practice before the baby will be able to get food into his/her mouth using utensils.

The price for plastic coated spoons is about $2-3 for a two pack. If they are made of sterling silver, the price is about $30-70 or more. If engraved with the baby's name, they make an excellent baby shower gift.

Other dinnerware items needed are plastic dishes that are durable and dishwasher safe. Some bowls have a suction base that will hold the bowl in place during feeding. Bowls cost about $4 for a package of six. Bowls with a suction cup cost about $5.
