Protect your Children with Child Booster Seats
When children outgrow their car seats, child booster seats should be used. These seats are
designed to raise the child up, so that the adult lap/shoulder belts fit properly. Children
weighing 40-80 lbs, who are less than 4' 9" tall and less than 8 years old should use these seats.
Seats with a lap/shoulder belt help protect against serious injury much better than lap seat belts alone.
A lap/shoulder combination must be used for all booster seats. If your car has only a lap belt, you
need to have a shoulder belt installed.
The belts should fit properly:
- The shoulder belt should fit across the middle of the chest and shoulder. It should not go across the throat.
- The seat belt should go properly across the thighs.
Before installing the seat, read the instructions and the car manual guidelines carefully. The seat must be buckled tightly against the car seat's bottom and back.
Price is about $30-200.
