Child Health is important
for the Child's Development

Child health is important for a child to grow up happy and healthy. The main ingredients to have a happy and healthy child are good nutrition, exercise, sleep and family support.

Eating the right food will develop active children. Eating too much and unhealthy food can lead to overweight and health problems. Parents can help by providing meals and snacks that are low in fat and sugar. Meals should include vegetables and fruit.

Eating a healthy breakfast is important. Studies have shown that children perform better in school, if they eat well in the morning. Kids who eat oatmeal in the morning pay more attention and remember things better. Children who eat breakfast maintain a proper weight and are better behaved.

Experts recommend at least 60 minutes of daily physical activities for children. Activities can be riding a bike, playing soccer, basketball or just playing outside. Parents can set an example and exercise with the kids together.

Healthy sleep habits are important for the child's growth. A consistent routine that avoids stimulating activities before bedtime is recommended. A quiet time that includes reading a book is a good start.
