Child Sleeping Bag

A child sleeping bag is available in various styles, many colors and for every season.

When buying a kid sleeping bag, consider how it will be used. For summer camping trips or backyard sleeping, you don't need many features. For camping, when the temperature could be below 20 degrees, you will need a good bag that is rated for cold weather.

A bag with a hood and a zippered lining would be a good choice for cold nights. It should fit the child and have enough room for the child to move around. The child should also be able to zip it open or close it.

If the child is only 3 or 4 years of age, consider purchasing a bag that allows you to add extensions. It will always fit well and with extensions can be used until the child is 10 years old.

For outdoor sleeping you might want to consider a sleeping pad. These pads provide cushioning and insulation from cold grounds.

Price range for a plain sleeping bag is about $30-50. For hooded, zippered or personalized models, the price can go up to $200.
