Entertain your Child
with Educational Toys

Educational toys can provide entertainment and education. They are excellent for the child's physical and mental development.

The right toys will provide stimulation. They help develop many skills like creativity and problem solving.

Good toys are made to teach specific skills like language or counting. They should also provide fun in addition to learning.Here are some guidelines for choosing toys:

  • For infants they should provide lights, sounds and movement.
  • For older babies and toddlers they should allow them to think and be creative. They should be interesting, but not complicated.
  • They should imitate real life. Telephones and doll houses are excellent.
  • They should be appropriate for the child's age and allow play with other children.
  • They should be durable and safe for the child's age.



Educational building toys help acquire creativity, coordination and problem solving ability.

There are many educational electronic toys that keep children entertained and teach preschool skills.

It teaches alphabet skills, reading comprehension, word families, rhyming, letter sounds, spelling and problem solving. Suggested age is 3 years and older. Price is about $35.

Interactive books cover basic skills for kids. My First Story Reader Sesame Street costs about $25. It contains interactive storybooks featuring Sesame Street characters. Two play options are available. In the read to me mode, just turn the pages to hear a friendly narrator. In the active mode, your child can press the three big buttons to answer simple questions about colors, shapes and more.

Handheld games help children learn preschool skills like spelling, counting, letters and shapes. The Fun2 learn Learning Game Player by Fisher-Price reinforces preschool skills. Recommended age is 4-6 years. Price is about $45-55.

Science educational toys, games and science kits make learning exciting. Children learn about geography, physics, chemistry, astronomy and other fields. Children acquire valuable skills and have fun doing it.
