Good toys are made to teach specific skills like language or counting. They should also provide fun in addition to learning.Here are some guidelines for choosing toys:
- For infants they should provide lights, sounds and movement.
- For older babies and toddlers they should allow them to think and be creative. They should be interesting, but not complicated.
- They should imitate real life. Telephones and doll houses are excellent.
- They should be appropriate for the child's age and allow play with other children.
- They should be durable and safe for the child's age.
