Reduce your Electric Bill
with Electric Blankets for Babies

Electric blankets for babies can keep the baby warm during cold days. You have to be careful when you use these blankets. Every year a large number of fires are caused by old blankets that should have been replaced.

You can prevent most of these fires by following some simple steps:

  • Make sure the blanket does not show any danger signs like exposed wire, worn fabric or loose connections.
  • If it is several years old, it might be better to replace it.
  • In many cases it is probably cheaper to buy a new blanket than repair the old one.

New electric blankets, also called automatic blankets, are available for all bed sizes. Most have a preheat cycle, several levels of temperature control and an automatic shut off for safety. The price depends on size and material. Average price range is about $60-140.

It is recommended not to use them for your baby overnight. They can be used to pre warm the baby crib or child bed. Be sure to remove the blanket when putting your baby in to sleep.
