Exercise for Kids is important for your Child's Growth
Exercise for kids is important for good child health. Experts recommend at least 60 minutes a day of physical activity for toddlers and preschoolers. Choose activities for your child that are fun and moderately challenging.
Aerobic exercise can be done with the child and the parent together. Aerobic activities include walking, running, basketball, soccer, bicycling and swimming.
The guidelines for kids by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) suggest that children 2 years and older should get at least 60 minutes of moderate to vigorous exercise a day. Exercise and a healthy diet that includes vegetables, fruits and whole grain, will help your child grow up healthy. These are some of the benefits: 1. An active child will have stronger muscles. Swinging and climbing on playground equipment can strengthen the muscles. Other activities that build muscles are push ups, bicycling, skating and running. 2. Exercise helps control body fat. Your child will less likely become overweight. 3. Activities like yoga and martial arts are good for flexibility. 4. A healthy diet is important for your child's growth. It will decrease the risk of type 2 diabetes and might lower blood pressure. 5. A healthy and strong child can participate in many sports.
