A safe
Kid Bunk Bed

A kid bunk bed should be sturdy and safe. Bunk beds come in various styles. Before buying one, check for the following:

1. The material should be strong and durable with edges that are smooth and rounded.
2. Material should be real wood and not imitation wood.
3. The ladder should be securely attached. A child should not be able to remove the ladder.
4. The bed should conform to current safety standards.
5. Look for a feature that permits the bed to be used as two single beds.

It is important that safety precautions are always followed:

1. Children under 6 years of age should not sleep on the top bunk.
2. The upper bunk should have guard rails on both sides.
3. Use the correct mattress size.
4. The child should only use the ladder to get to the upper bunk.
5. Use a night light, so children can see the ladder, when they get up during the night.

Price for a solid wood bed is about $350-650. Shipping cost is about $70-100.
