Bedding could be different for a boy or girl. Generally, for girls bedding has shades of pink and purple. For boys it is often sport minded or displays superheroes. Bedding could be chosen around a theme like planes, trains or cartoon characters.

The fabric for crib bedding should be soft and machine washable. Sheets should fit tightly around the mattress. Elastic straps that clip to the crib sheet under the mattress will hold the sheet in place.

Mattresses should be firm. Use dust mite barrier bedding to help prevent your baby from having allergies. This type of bedding is usually only needed for natural mattresses. Most other mattresses have a vinyl cover, which will act as a barrier. A mattress cover slips easily over the mattress to provide a good allergy protection.
