Keep fuzzy babies calm
in Soft Infant Carriers

There are basically two types of soft infant carriers available: the strap carriers and the sling. Strap carriers are the more popular type. They can be used as front or back carriers.

Strap carriers are good to keep fuzzy babies calm. Some provide for discreet nursing. They allow infants to face inward, while older babies can face either inward or outward.

Soft models are good for babies, who are up to 5-6 months old. Babies over 6 months of age or who weigh more than 30-40 lbs are too heavy for soft carriers. A framed carrier is more convenient once the baby can sit up.

A variety of shoulder and waist straps is avaialble. These straps should be easy to adjust. More expensive models have a padded waist strap that makes carrying the baby easier. To make carrying more comfortable, shoulder straps should be wide and soft. Price range is about $25-95.
