Umbrella Baby Strollers

There is a wide range of umbrella baby strollers available. They are lighter and easier to handle than standard strollers. They are easy to open and fold, but are less stable and less durable. Most models don't have many features and are not suited for infants who need to lie flat.



Umbrella strollers are better suited for babies older than 3 months. Most parents prefer a lightweight model that is easy to handle. A big advantage of these strollers is that most of them are inexpensive. The Kolcraft model costs about $20. The high end models can cost $200-300.

Maclaren offers a variety of strollers priced from about $110-200. The more expensive models have a reclining seat and rain cover. The Maclaren Volo weighs less than 9 lbs, but it does not have a reclining seat. The Maclaren Triumph weighs about 11 lbs and has a reclining seat.


Chicco offers a stroller for about $70. It has more features than the Kolcraft model, but it might not be as durable and light as the Maclaren strollers. This Chicco model weighs about 13 lbs.
